Farewell to Fanet

The time has come to say goodbye to the Isle of Thanet, as I've got a job elsewhere.

My arrival in Thanet three years ago stimulated the revival of my interest in birding, as it is such a good place for it. I shall especially miss the waders on rising tide at Foreness.......

....and the raucous calls of the Parakeets.

I shall also miss the lads of Planet Thanet, who have encouraged (mostly) me to develop my skills and inspired much of the style of this blog.
So (if you ever read this amateur stuff) to Dylan, Gadget, Phil et al - a sincere thank you and keep up the good work.

I'm not sure from your post if you are moving, heading home, off to a new job and place to live or what? Good luck!...but I enjoy the photos very much. Those parakeets always astound me that they live wild there. The waders are great too, since I don't live near the ocean or see any sort of seabird regularly. Keep up the blog, wherever you go!

Love the parakeets in the flowers! Sooooooo beautiful!!!

Good luck with your move, Kingsdowner. I hope you'll continue with your interesting blog, no matter where you go.

Thank you for your comments - I'm staying in the village of Kingsdown but moving jobs. The new place has some good woods nearby, so doubtless I shall still spend my lunchhour productively.
My workload is likely to be greater, however, so maybe there will be fewer posts!
