Trees

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is tomorrow.

Near the tiny village of Acrise, this venerable line of old Horse Chestnut, Sweet Chestnut and Oak must have been the pride of the local squire when he planted them.

Oh dear, it's those Little Owls again.

The owl picture is amazing; I wouldn't have seen them if you hadn't made mention of their presence. Owls are just not a catagory in my photo archives index; I just never see any. Your pictures of them are very nice.

I like the quote about the best time to plant a tree and the pics of the old ones. I wonder what lives n that nice hole? I never tire of your owls....I almost missed seeing the one at the bottom! They blend in so well. Nice post!

I didn't realize there were two owls until I clicked on the larger version. Are they the same owls you have posted before? What kind are they? They are adorable.

I didn't see the second owl when I was taking the photo, and only saw it when viewing the pic on the computer screen.
NW, they are Little Owls, about 7 inches high, rather like your Northern Saw-Whet Owls.

I really must stop taking photos of them - I'll cause an accident one day.

When you wrote "Little Owls" under the photo...I assumed you were just being affectionate! I get it now, that is really their name! How cute. Some names are just appropriate. Be careful, and keep taking photos. I love to see them.
