'Twas Chillig

'Twas chillig,
And the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe.

All fristy were the borogoves
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Look, we're not used to all this cold weather. I know that the other reader thinks that -10 degrees is balmy, but for us tender flowers in Kingsdown, usually sheltered on the coast, the recent -4° to -6° is unsupportable.
The tits are constant by the feeders,......and it was good to see that at least one Blackcap had survived......as indeed had this squirrel, awoken from its temporary hibernation by slightly warmer weather.

Gee, I always wondered what all the Jabberwocky stuff meant....are you telling me it means "frost on the ground"?? I'd be cold if it was minus anything, too. Luckily where I live that is a rare occurence. We are in the 40's right now. Love the squirrel!

Steve ,
I was just about to advise taking more water with it , when you seemed to snap out of it .
It was probably the cold weather , there again , more likely it was the alcohol all along .

A great photographic round up of the recent cold spell, plus a bit of Beowulf type prose that gave it all a touch of gravitas...good stuff Kingsdowner.

That is cold for you? You did a wonderful job catching the frost , but I hate to hear that the birds were in danger of freezing...
