Walking in Larkey Valley Wood, I saw a fox crossing my path, stop and wait. Waited long enough for a few photos, then turned and loped off.Only when I developed the pictures did I see a rabbit, motionless for the few seconds that stood between us, the same position in all of the shots.
A little like the strategies in Watership Down - playing off enemies against each other. The hombre would not chase it, because of the presence of man.
Lydden still holds deep snow, explaining why travel on Wednesday and Thursday was so difficult. The views were more like theDales than East Kent.
Sheep feed on whatever the farmers have left in barns as this surprising winter drags on. But what is this we see?

Can't believe we're in the same county - grey and msit, no snow in Maidstone the last 2 days! Great shot of the fox - the bunny must have been pleased with your timming!

I agree totally with Greenfingers , brilliant is the only word for the Fox/Rabbit shot .
I never realised that you were so modest to say that you only spotted the Rabbit when you got home !
Adam, we've got our own little ecosystem down here - rarely get it when you do, but every 20 years or so we really get it.

That rabbit was so perfectly camouflaged. No wonder you didn't see him. Snuggled in his bed at night, I'm sure he said a prayer in thanks for crossing paths with you.
What a great shot...I didn't see the rabbit until you mentioned it! Lucky rabbit saved for the moment. That lamb is adorable.
